We started our family-run business in 2011 to bring to UK riders brands from North America and the Continent that we felt offered a combination of quality, performance and technical innovation not easily found in UK tack shops. We back these with in-depth product knowledge and experience, and customer service aimed at ensuring you get the right solution.
Our range
A passion for horses and a deep expertise in equestrian products guides us in curating our range, plus some clear criteria: any Shadow Horse product has to:

We thoroughly test every product in real-world use before we decide to offer it (see 'How we select and test").
Our products come from small companies run by individuals who are passionate about making the best possible products in the categories they focus on (see 'Our Brands'). Like us, they aren’t satisfied with doing the same as everyone else: they constantly innovate, test, and improve.
We've been delighted by the feedback we've had from our customers. Some of the brands we originally introduced into the UK - such as Flex-on and Fenwick - have since become more widely available though we remain the UK retailer with the deepest product experience and knowledge and usually the broadest stocked range. For others - eg TSF and Kensington - we remain the exclusive UK and European source for the brand. We generally set our prices to be equivalent to those in the brand's home market, so it is always cheaper and faster to buy from us rather than ordering direct from the brand and paying shipping and import VAT and duties
Our service commitment
We really care about delivering the right solution for you and your horse. Because every horse is different, and because we know how difficult it is to choose the right product, we’re happy to talk things through and suggest solutions. We’ll try and put you on the right track, even if we don’t have what you need, and we’ll only suggest our products if we believe they’re right for you and your horse. As part of this, we provide lots of helpful information on our website, and extra services such as 'testers' (see Our unique services').
We aim to ship in-stock items within 1-2 business days (email us if you need it urgently) and we use only next-day services: DPD or Royal Mail Tracked 24. We sell not just to the UK but all over the world, shipping via DPD or DHL (see Delivery): orders to EU countries are shipped with customs charges paid
